The WSMA opposes the use of racist, homophobic, stigmatizing, and
discriminatory language in reference to communities affected by monkeypox,
and other diseases in general. The WSMA also supports efforts to combat
such language with timely and transparent public education (Res C-16,
A-22)
The WSMA supports public health policy and disease response efforts that
centers its solutions around health equity and involves stakeholders
within the communities that are affected by monkeypox and other diseases
to better reach those that are marginalized and vulnerable. (Res C-16,
