Campaigns are more important than ever—and so is your support for WAMPAC.

WAMPAC

WAMPAC (Washington Medical Political Action Committee) is the nonpartisan political campaign arm of the WSMA, established to help identify and support candidates for political office whose priorities align with the house of medicine. In recent years, more than 95 percent of the candidates we've supported have won their campaigns, and the relationships we built on the campaign trail have helped translate to the kind of policy victories that make a difference for physicians and patients.

WAMPAC Highlights From the 2021 Legislative Session document

The 2022 midterm elections are on the horizon and there’s a lot at stake for our legislative advocacy. All ten of the state’s congressional seats and more than 100 state legislative seats are on the ballot in November. Several prominent legislators have recently announced their retirement, including Rep. Eileen Cody, the longtime Chair of the House Health Care & Wellness committee. Our work in the coming election cycle will help shape the health policy landscape in Olympia in the 2023 session and beyond, but to be successful, we’ll need to continue to grow WAMPAC’s presence and ensure the voice of physicians is heard loud and clear by political candidates.

Your investment will help WAMPAC during this unique election cycle and give us the resources we need to advocate on your behalf.

Your support matters. We’ve seen significant fiscal and policy “wins” for the house of medicine in Olympia in recent years, some of which are detailed below. Maintaining this momentum will require continued support from the physician community.

A Conversation with Representative Kim Schrier, MD

The WAMPAC Legislator Report Card

One of the many ways WAMPAC brings value to WSMA members is by providing details on legislators' record on issues important to you and your patients. Published during general and midterm election years, the WAMPAC Legislator Report Card details how state legislators voted on WSMA's priority bills and is included as part of the yearly WSMA Legislative Report mailed to all members at the conclusion of the state legislative session. Visit the WAMPAC Legislator Report Card page (members-only; sign-in required) to view and download the latest report card.

Who is WAMPAC?

WAMPAC comprises physician and physician assistant members of the WSMA. WSMA membership dues includes $25 for WAMPAC (members who do not wish to contribute to WAMPAC can allocate their $25 to the WSMA Foundation for Health Care Improvement or to the WSMA).
