Access

The WSMA supports "First Steps", and encourages all obstetrical providers to actively provide maternity access to Medicaid beneficiaries, and assume a reasonable share of Medicaid patients in order to more equally distribute the workload. (EC Rpt H, A-90) (Reaffirmed A-17)

The WSMA supports patients’ timely access to standard treatment of nonviable pregnancy, including but not limited to miscarriage, molar pregnancy, and ectopic pregnancy, in both emergent and non-emergent circumstances. (B-11, A-21)

The WSMA opposes any hospital directive, policy, or legislation that may hinder patients’ timely access to the accepted standard of care in both emergent and non-emergent cases of nonviable pregnancy. (B-11, A-21)
