Reducing Gun Harm by Requiring Gun Owners to Obtain and Maintain Liability Insurance

The WSMA supports legislation requiring a Washington state resident who owns a firearm to obtain and continuously maintain a gun liability insurance policy from an insurer specifically covering losses or damages resulting from any negligent or accidental use of the firearm. Proof of insurance should be kept wherever the guns are stored or transported. (Res C-14, A-23)
