Reducing Gun Harm by Requiring Gun Owners to Obtain and Maintain Liability
Insurance
The WSMA supports legislation requiring a Washington state resident who
owns a firearm to obtain and continuously maintain a gun liability
insurance policy from an insurer specifically covering losses or damages
resulting from any negligent or accidental use of the firearm. Proof of
insurance should be kept wherever the guns are stored or transported. (Res
