Continuing Medical Education
The WSMA opposes AMA policy revisions to the Physician Recognition Award
which requires applicants to obtain a minimum of 20 hours of Category II
credit each year, and disallows credit for independent study or reading.

The WSMA opposes legislation which would eliminate the current continuing
medical education requirements. The WSMA supports mandating continuing
medical education, but opposes disease specific mandatory education

The WSMA recommends that accredited CME providers in Washington state have
registration fee parity among physicians and advanced practitioners. (Res
