Head Protection
In order to prevent serious head injuries and associated traumatic brain
injury, the WSMA supports appropriate efforts to educate parents and
children about protection of the head when horse riding or cycling or

The WSMA supports legislation mandating bicycle helmets be worn by all
bicycle riders. (Res C-3, A-97) (Reaffirmed A-23)
The WSMA supports legislation mandating motorcycle helmets for all
motorcycle riders. (Res 16, C-87) (Reaffirmed A-23)
The WSMA actively encourages and promotes the wearing of approved helmets
by all scooter and e-bike riders. (Res B-13, A-19)
The WSMA strongly supports policies and public health safety campaigns on
the importance of wearing helmets while riding scooters and e-bikes. (Res
