Legislative Summit

The 2023 Washington state legislative session begins on Monday, Jan. 9. All signs indicate that lawmakers will convene in person, so the 2023 WSMA Legislative Summit will return to the state Capitol on Feb. 3, 2023!  Register. The Legislative Summit is free for WSMA members.

The in-person event will include the signature details you’ve come to expect, including updates from health care policy leaders, a presentation on WSMA’s legislative agenda, and optional meetings with your legislative delegation. Lunch is also provided.

This year’s session will feature a new chair of the House Health Care & Wellness Committee and will require legislators to write the two-year state budget, while also considering countless policies important to the house of medicine. We hope you join us in Olympia to help advocate for WSMA’s legislative priorities, including:

  • WSMA 2023 Legislative Priorities (subject to change)
    • Fiscal
      • Across-the-board Medicaid reimbursement increases
      • Physician residency funding
      • Taxes
    • Policy
      • Standardizing the prior authorization process
      • Ensuring access to abortion and reproductive health care services
