Health Equity Leadership Development and Action Collective
Join a collective of health care leaders to gain education, guidance, and
support in addressing inequities that exist within your sphere of
influence. If you are committed to making lasting, equitable change in
your organization, then this course is here to support you on that path.
We look forward building this collective with you.
This action collective is intended for physicians, physician assistants,
and health care professional leaders who are ready to act on the
understanding that systemic racism exists within health care, and who are
positioned to lead and facilitate change in their organizations and
beyond.
Objectives
- Identify common health equity issues.

Outline principles to advance health equity through culture, policy, and
clinical changes.
- Identify the need for change within your organization.

Strategize how to bring people within your organization together to
create change towards equity.
- Learn how to create change through a culture of health equity.
- Solicit strategic guidance from the collective.

Course Details
The Health Equity Leadership Development and Action Collective will meet
virtually in six two-hour sessions held every other month from September
2022 – July 2023.

Session Time
Noon–2 p.m.
The tuition for the course is $1,800 for WSMA members and $2,400 for
non-members.
Instructor
This course is led by Edwin Lindo, JD, health equity
consultant to the WSMA and the WSMA Foundation, and assistant dean of social and health justice in the Office of Healthcare Equity, an associate teaching professor in the department of family medicine, and an adjunct associate teaching professor in the department of bioethics and humanities at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He teaches, presents, and writes on issues of race and racism within the field of medicine and greater society. He is internationally recognized as a conscious voice for racial and social justice.
CME Credit
The Washington State Medical Association (WSMA) is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide
continuing medical education for physicians.
The WSMA designates this live activity for a maximum of 12
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the
credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds are available for live event registration depending on when the
refund is requested in relation to the start of the course.

91 days or more until start of event: 100% refund less a $100 processing
fee per person
- 61–90 days until start of event: 75% refund
- 31–60 days until start of event: 25% refund
- 30 days or less until start of event: no refund
WSMA reserves the right to cancel the course. If so, preregistered
participants will be notified, and full refunds provided. No shows will
receive no refund. Registrations may not be transferred to another person
at any time. All refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.
