Support for Legislation that Improves Health Via Tax on Extreme Wealth

The WSMA reinforced by prior WSMA resolutions (Res 28, C-87; Res 9, C-88, reaffirmed at A-23), support legislation for a state wealth tax on intangible property, specifically publicly traded stocks and bonds only (not homes, retirement plans or other assets), which exempts the first $50 million where the resources will be directed toward social programs including nutritional, educational, homelessness support, immigrant support, and prevention and health care programs, in order to improve the health of all Washingtonians. (Res C-21, A-25)
