Replacement of American Council on Immunization Practices
The WSMA supports the removal of references specifically and only to the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) from the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW), and WSMA policy documents. (Res B-9, A-25)
The WSMA supports the legal language that allows for Washington to determine the best source for recommending immunization schedules, policies, and mandates, based on that body’s foundation in scientific evidence. (Res B-9, A-25)
The WSMA actively pursue wording changes in Washington State RCWs and WACs to eliminate all references to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and replace those references with current evidence-based preventive services recommendations developed by authoritative medical entities. (Res B-9, A-25)
