County Medical Societies

The WSMA opposes the use of corporal punishment in schools, and encourages all schools to adopt policies prohibiting corporal punishment. The WSMA encourages instead the use of alternative methods of discipline to produce responsible student behavior. (EC 9/91; EC Rpt I, A-91) (Reaffirmed A-23)

The WSMA reaffirm its policy from 2010 regarding coordination between the association and county societies: B-2 WSMA/County Society Coordination with Respect to Large Groups (2010) (A-10) (Reaffirmed A-25)

It is important the WSMA and county medical societies, regardless of unification status, work together and not at cross purposes. (A-10) (Reaffirmed A-25)
 
The WSMA and county medical societies should mutually support membership in both organizations and whenever possible work to communicate the value of both to physicians. (A-10) (Reaffirmed A-25)
 
The WSMA and the county medical societies should investigate ways to consolidate services and provide membership efficiencies at a saving to physician members. (A-10) (Reaffirmed A-25)
