Protecting Access to HIV Prevention and Treatment
The WSMA supports efforts to increase access to comprehensive, evidence-based HIV prevention and treatment strategies, including PrEP, PEP and ART. (Res C-18, A-25)
The WSMA advocates for legal, regulatory, and insurance protections that ensure affordable, stigma-free, and continuous access to HIV-related care, especially for medically underserved populations. (Res C-18, A-25)
The WSMA actively oppose any direct or indirect federal efforts to restrict access to HIV prevention and treatment services in Washington state and where feasible to engage regionally or nationally. (Res C-18, A-25)
The WSMA supports interprofessional provider education, community-based outreach, and state-level funding mechanisms to expand access to biomedical HIV prevention in both clinical and pharmacy settings. (Res C-18, A-25)
