Increasing Investment in Primary Care, Including Utilization of the Making
Care Primary Model
The WSMA advocates expediently for measures intended to increase
investment in primary care towards 12% of total medical expenditures in
Washington. (Res C-16, A-23)
The WSMA advocates for legislative measures to finance and align the
Washington State Health Care Authority’s Primary Care Transformation Model
with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Making Care Primary
Model to ensure that the health and social needs of all patients covered
by Medicaid and commercial payers in Washington are met via delivery of
advanced primary care services. (Res C-16, A-23)
