WSMA Practice Resource Center

The WSMA Practice Resource Center reduces daily administrative burden by helping to address practice challenges faced by physicians and their staff. For a full list of offerings, visit the Practice Resource Center.

WSMA Coding Hotline

For better or worse, codes determine your reimbursement. Correct coding also keeps the auditors away. Guidance on CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding is available from the WSMA's certified coders through the WSMA Coding Hotline. The WSMA Coding Hotline is available by calling Michelle M. This service is free to WSMA member physicians and WSMGMA member practice managers and staff. Non-members can access this service for a prepaid fee of $120 per month for three questions per practice per month.

Legislative and regulatory affairs

The WSMA's advocacy team is working tirelessly to address physician burnout in the state's legislative and regulatory arenas and on the campaign trail. We'll highlight the advocacy's team's efforts here.

State legislative session recap

When considering the outcome of priority bills from the 2017 state legislative session, the WSMA had a 91 percent success rate, underscoring the effectiveness of our advocacy on behalf of physicians and patients in Washington state. Several of these new laws fall under our Healthy Doctors, Healthier Patients initiative to reduce administrative burden. WSMA contract evaluation service

Physicians often overlook the need to carefully review all facets of the payer or network sponsor who is submitting a contract. The WSMA Contract Evaluation Service provides information based on an analysis of specific contracts submitted individually by physicians. Please note this service takes four to six weeks. WSMA provides a wide range of activities and learning experiences for physicians and other health care professionals that are designed to improve management skills, patient care, practice operations, physician wellness and professional satisfaction.

DocTalks for Residents

Residency directors understand better than most how daunting the transition from residency into active practice can be. Let the WSMA help. We've put together a menu of “talks” tailored specifically to residents by our staff of content experts. Our staff professionals will come to your location and meet with your residents on an agreed upon date and time at no expense to you or your program. Each session is approximately an hour in duration and covers a range of topics from health care delivery and financing to using social media.
