MQAC Complaint and Disciplinary Process
When someone files a complaint against a physician, the Medical Quality Assurance Commission is the state agency responsible for investigating the complaint’s merit and—when appropriate—disciplining the physician.
MQAC has provided this flowchart to demonstrate how the complaint is handled. It visually summarizes the complaint process from the moment it is filed with the commission. You may note that there are several different ways the investigation may conclude, including the possibility that the commission will find that the physician did not violate the standard of care.
If you have more questions about MQAC’s disciplinary authority or compliant procedures, visit their Web page or contact the commission at (360) 236-2750 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
