It’s been four years since the last regular annual update to the ICD-10 code sets. The code sets received only limited updates to capture new technologies and diseases. Now that the ICD-10 code set has been implemented, the annual updates will resume, starting Oct. 1, 2016. Currently there are 1,900 new ICD-10-CM codes, 313 deletions and 351 revised codes.
Recently the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services also rolled out a new ICD-10 Assessment and Maintenance Toolkit. In addition to covering the changes, this webinar will also cover:
The CMS "Next Steps Toolkit" - ICD-10 key performance indicators
Lessons learned since implementation
- Steps for ongoing coding improvement
