WSMA’s member communities offer a unique platform where powerful connections happen. The communities are member led and member driven, bringing together various constituencies of interest to our members. By joining a community, you’ll engage in a private, convenient online space that is accessible via email, website, or mobile app. It’s an easy way to connect, post, share, connect one on one, and more!

Is your community missing?
Here’s the information you need to know about creating and leading a WSMA member community.
The criteria used to consider a new member community:
- Focus is a forum of WSMA members who have shared professional interests.
- Furthers the WSMA’s strategic objectives, promotes WSMA membership, and drives engagement.
- Member engagement is not limited by geography or employment by a single entity.
- Does not duplicate or substantially overlap the goals and objectives of any existing community.
- Invited to submit a report to the WSMA Board of Trustees in the event of actions or activities undertaken.
- A WSMA member is willing to serve as the community leader.
The criteria used to consider a community leadership:
- Community leaders are WSMA members whose responsibility is to support the organization’s mission, values, and purpose.
- The community leader chairs and sets the agenda for regular (quarterly or more frequently) community Zoom meetings on topics of interest to the group. (Note: WSMA staff can assist with providing Zoom information for meetings.)
- The community leader should plan to serve as lead for at least one year and serve as mentor for others in the community who may wish to lead the group in the future.
