About Dr. Gupta and his keynote presentation

In his presentation, “Leading Through Change: What Physicians Need to Thrive in the Future of Healthcare,” Dr. Gupta will explore how physicians can lead through a period of extraordinary change in healthcare rather than simply react to it. He’ll explore:

  • The next era of clinical medicine. How AI, remote monitoring, and other emerging technologies are giving physicians better information, extending our reach, and allowing us to do more with increasingly constrained time and resources.
  • Using technology to restore the human side of medicine and what it could mean if technology actually gives clinicians time back to listen, think, and care.
  • The changing role of the physician as physicians increasingly serve not only as clinicians, but as trusted interpreters and guides.
  • Trust and medical falsehoods and why physicians have an increasingly important role in rebuilding trust in science and medicine.
  • Physician leadership and advocacy, why they matter, and why our profession needs more physicians willing to engage constructively in their communities, institutions, and the public square.

A practicing pulmonologist, Dr. Gupta has held leadership roles across the health technology sector, contributing to the development of health features for Apple Watch and serving as chief medical officer for Amazon Pharmacy and New Health Initiatives. He is currently managing director of healthcare innovation at Manatt Health, where he advises healthcare systems on digital transformation and generative AI adoption. A medical analyst for NBC News, MS NoW, and CNBC, Dr. Gupta is a trusted national voice.
