New WSMA Social Media Series Introduces “5 Things” Measles Video

In the last Membership Memo, we reported on a new WSMA video series designed to boost general health information on social media. We’re pleased to announce our second video, 5 Things Every Washingtonian Should Know About Measles, featuring Eric Chow, MD, with Public Health – Seattle & King County, is now available on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and on the WSMA website.

If you use social media, please help us expand the reach of the video and its important message by sharing, liking, or commenting on the posts. The more engagement these posts receive, the more widely the content can be disseminated.

About the series

Misinformation on social media and the increasing politicization of healthcare policy are adding layers of complexity to healthcare delivery in the U.S., making the daily work of physicians more challenging and creating confusion and fear among patients.

Confronting confusion around health guidance is the impetus for this new social media series, which is designed to boost trusted, evidence-based health guidance when it’s most needed and where our patients are. The videos are branded as part of WSMA’s Your Care Is at Our Core physician reputational campaign.

In case you missed it, our first video, 5 Health Tips During Wildfire Smoke Season, features Bindu Nayak, MD, and was posted to the WSMA’s social media channels in late July as Washington state continues to face heightened wildfire risk and variable air quality in some regions. It never too late to like and engage with these videos on social media. Find the video on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and the WSMA website.
