Register Today for WSMA’s Award-Winning Medical Student and Resident Advocacy Program
The WSMA Medical Student and Resident Advocacy Program is a unique opportunity for physicians in training to learn about legislative process, healthcare policy, and how to be an effective advocate. With over 70 medical students and residents participating in last year’s inaugural class, the WSMA was awarded the 2026 Profiles of Excellence Award in Advocacy by the American Association of Medical Society Executives. The program is free for medical students and residents.
Register today to participate in this rewarding program. Registration is open through Oct. 31.
Over the course of five evening virtual sessions and culminating in an in-person advocacy day in Olympia, program participants will hear from guest speakers and WSMA’s government affairs and policy team on a number of issues, ranging from political action committees and the campaign trail to how to get involved in WSMA’s House of Delegates, the legislative process, and more. Upon completion of the program, participants are awarded a certificate to include in their CV.
More information about the program can be found on our website and program flyer or by reaching out to malorie@wsma.org. Help us spread the word about the program by sharing the flyer with medical students and residents who may be interested or by distributing it in your program or practice setting.
