20220127_associate_director_of_membership20220127 Associate Director of MembershipCareer CenterShared_Content/Careers_Center/20220127_associate_director_of_membership<div class="col-md-12"> <h5>January 27, 2022</h5> <h2>Associate Director of Membership</h2> <p> The Associate Director of Membership is responsible for the development and implementation of all segments of the association's membership recruitment, acquisition, retention, billing, and data management activities.</p> <p> <strong>Specific Responsibilities:</strong> Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: </p> <ul> <li>Implement and manage all membership promotion and retention activities including direct mail, email promotions, and social media.</li> <li>Work with the CEO on large group accounts including managing complex billing functions for large groups.</li> <li>Working with the Membership Coordinator, manage and oversee the execution of the operations of membership data verification (and enrollment) surveys with groups, residency programs, and medical schools.</li> <li>Manage collections and outreach to all delinquent members, including creating targeted outreach to specific segments.</li> <li>Create monthly executive committee membership reports and charts. Apprise CEO of key account activity and threats.</li> <li>Manage all aspects of the iMIS database and maintain its integrity including data updates, new data entry, corrections, and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Be available for member assistance, including answering member questions about database, dues, membership, website activities, etc. Provide personalized member contact and service as necessary.</li> <li>Implement and oversee student and resident marketing programs. Participate in bi-monthly teleconference meetings with three governing councils that comprise the Early Career Sections (Students, Residents/Fellows, Young Physicians). Participate in annual University of Washington resident and fellow orientation vendor fairs for direct enrollment of new members.</li> <li>Directly manage Membership Coordinator. Supervise, coach, and mentor colleague. Support and help with prioritization, organization and management of data tasks and other projects.</li> <li>Collaborate with the communications team to develop and create membership messaging for social media and membership publications.</li> <li>Provide such other support and assistance as deemed appropriate and necessary by the Senior Director, Strategic Communications and Growth.</li> </ul> <p> <strong>Position Requirements:</strong> The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job. </p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, English, or related field preferred.</li> <li>Highly proficient in the following software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience in iMIS, SQL database management, and Informz/Higher Logic or similar email platform, plus data input and running reports is highly desired.</li> <li>Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to interact effectively and build relationships with management, staff, members, and outside organizations.</li> <li>Highly organized, focused, and detail-oriented project manager with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to provide customer service excellence in all aspects of engagement with members, prospective members, trustees, and all professional contacts. Must be responsive, thoughtful, and thorough in all interactions.</li> <li>Proficient at multi-tasking and working at various levels and across different departments of the organization, with staff, the executive committee, trustees, and vendors.</li> <li>Possess strong relationship, sales and soft skills for membership recruitment and retention.</li> <li>Ability to travel when needed and work a flexible schedule as needed.</li> <li>Ability to stay focused, efficient, and effective in managing multiple priorities.</li> <li>Professional demeanor and ability to handle situations in a calm manner.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.</li> </ul> <p> <strong>About the WSMA:</strong> For over 125 years, the WSMA has worked on behalf of physicians, physician assistants and patients in Washington state.
