Legislative & Regulatory
One of the strongest ways your WSMA represents the profession of medicine
is with our legislative and regulatory advocacy, both at the state and
federal levels.
Post-session Advocacy Council Meeting Held March 11
Sean Graham and Alex Wehinger of WSMA's government affairs team hosted an
Advocacy Council meeting on March 11 to review the outcomes of the 2022
session including bills impacting the house of medicine, the supplemental
operating budget, and the general dynamic heading into the midterm
election.
WSMA Legislative Report
The WSMA publishes a legislative wrap-up report each year after the state
legislative session adjourns. The report includes a summary of policy
outcomes, a look a new laws impacting practice management, and during presidential and midterm election years, the WAMPAC Legislator Report Card. The
report is mailed to all members.
Visit the
WSMA Legislative Report page (members-only; sign-in required) for archived copies of the report.

WSMA Member Support Available
Do you have questions about how changes from the 2020 legislative session
will apply to your practice? Are you frustrated by administrative burden
or a particular state or federal regulation? The WSMA Policy Department is
here to help. As a WSMA member, you have access to policy experts who can
assist with your questions and provide information on the latest health
care policies and proposals. Your questions and feedback help us shape our
