Q&A with Michael Galvez, MD, Creator of National Latino Physician Day
Monday, July 1, 5:15-6:15 p.m. Free registration required.
WSMA members are invited to attend a virtual meeting of the WSMA Latinx Advisory Council on Monday, July 1, from 5:15-6:15 p.m., featuring special guest Michael Galvez, MD, creator of National Latino and Latina Physician Day. Only 6% of physicians in the U.S. are Latinx, despite Latinx people comprising 19% of the population. Dr. Galvez introduced legislation in 2023 to designate Oct. 1 as National Latino and Latina Physician Day and to encourage the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support Latinx medical students and aspiring students through increased funding, awareness, and retention programs. Bring your questions for a casual Q&A with Dr. Galvez. Register for the meeting.
